Yes there is a bread note to this but there's also a bread note in TFA along with some peppery spices which makes this one much better. This is good for use in cake and ice-cream type of recipes.
Don't use more than 4% in a recipe, even 0.5% might be enough.  Also don't use it at 10% and say it's no good because that's way too much.
If you want a straight vanilla flavour, try Vanillin.

Definite cake notes and icing. Vanilla taste is strong but does still let the other nuances through. There is a slight perfumey/chemical/unrecognizable taste at the end that wouldn't go away with more steeping
